Ulupi Barnett is the Head of Science at the Nottingham University Academy of Science and Technology, a STEM secondary school and 6th form college. Ulupi has taught Science to secondary school children for the past 10 years, and has collaborated on public engagement projects with Cathy Southworth (Centre for Regenerative Medicine, Edinburgh) to support public outreach in STEM cells with Regenerate resources and Tim Self (University of Nottingham) on his “Build your own Raspberry-Pi microscope” resources and workshop.

On this project Ulupi has worked with us to identify a target audience for whom the public engagement could have a significant impact, and on the design of the public engagement experience, ensuring that it is relevant and beneficial for this audience. We will work closely with Ulupi and the students from this school during the development and testing phases of the project, then roll the project out to a further 24 schools and 8 town centres.
